What's Old Is New
04:09
|
|||
just like that, what's old is new
it's what happens when there's little left to do
you re-imagine, rearrange,
put your mind to things and see a new project through
what's old is new
forgotten tales are true
beyond the notes
a past in review
review the past, one note at a time
they're from my fingers, but are they still mine?
nostalgia creeps in, it's affecting by design
it's ok to revisit, when your passions on decline
it still has a touch of what made it mine
a touch of what made it fine
evolving now into a new meaning
revisiting a passion feeding
it's familiar but it's not the same
forged tough through fire and flame
i'm technically still me i think
but technically not even the same in name
what's old is new
forgotten tales are true
beyond the notes
a past in review
review the past, one note at a time
they're from my fingers, but are they still mine?
nostalgia creeps in, it's affecting by design
it's ok to revisit, when your passions on decline

evolving now into a new meaning

Stories To Tell
04:13
|
|||
ignorant to processes
obsessing over prophecies
once the searing riffs to tell an epic story
about a cosmic being and his enemies
so let's go, let's go
rock to the rhythm to the flow
so let's go, let's go
accepting all the thing's you realize that you don't know
now it's a testament to the times of grandiosity
explosive beats blasting at exhilarating velocity
i can still hear the old story in the notes
But now I feel the new stories to be told from my throat
there's always tomorrow, but there's right now as well
and both have epic stories that they wait patiently to tell
and yesterday has it's place, great stories told also
but that's before and this is now, adventures left on which to go
so let's go, let's go
rock to the rhythm to the flow
so let's go, let's go
accepting all the thing's you realize that you don't know
now it's a testament to the times of grandiosity
explosive beats blasting at exhilarating velocity
i can still hear the old story in the notes
But now I feel the new stories to be told from my throat

The Rhythm Of The Beat
03:54
|
|||
i didn't know it at the time, but the groove it never changes
even if you change your mind it still comes back in phases
you realize the groove was always there, waiting to be roused
the music of the universe was always waiting to be found
it's still about the rhythm, the rhythm of the beat
I'm well aware that I'm a record on repeat
but it's still about the rhythm, the rhythm of the beat
and being kind and loving towards everyone you meet
resentments, oh resentments they were killing me.
but now I slowly learn to love and I'm slowly becoming free.
that was always difficult for my undeveloped mind
how to meet someone I couldn't stand, and still be somehow kind
but it's how you groove, expand, evolve you see
it's how you bridge the gap between you, me, i, and we.
it's still about the rhythm, the rhythm of the beat
I'm well aware that I'm a record on repeat
but it's still about the rhythm, the rhythm of the beat
and being kind and loving towards everyone you meet
resentments, oh resentments they were killing me.
but now I slowly learn to love and I'm slowly becoming free.

Broken Hearts
06:23
|
|||
broken hearts, thoughts connected, countless millions all rejected, the status quo someday comes crashing down. and the ghosts who haunt the shadows will peek out with bloodshot eyes, whispering in tongues a quiet resolution. and those who lurk beneath the surface will climb up and walk these streets, common ideas racing through their minds. they will know its time for change when their malnourished broken frames can no longer support the legs they're standing on. and we will see a new philosophy, a new religion, enlightenment, a brand new vision.
the old words, from the old world, carried over to today
a 20 year old poem made it's way to modern display
it still means so much to me to think about
hard to believe I got by so many years without
but was I even getting by, getting by
I'm just grateful that I never let it die

Evitagenmai
04:00
|
|||
evitagenmai, it's a word I use from time to time
it's not as common anymore but it's still from in my mind
it has a meaning but it's still loosely defined
and I don't identify so much now that things have been refined
I am not the evitagenmai, anymore
I have enough new identities to explore
I'm not as negative as I used to be before
washed up from the sea of dreams to solid sands and shores
the sea of dreams, oh the sea of dreams, what meaning it once had
a mythology realized like I imagine few others have
the evitagenmai, the reverofmai as well
endless tales and stories I aspired to tell
I am not the evitagenmai, anymore
I have enough new identities to explore
I'm not as negative as I used to be before
washed up from the sea of dreams to solid sands and shores
repeat after me: i am not negative
i will not succumb to tired narratives
I identify now with a new imperative
what's old is new, forged in flames
I am not the evitagenmai, anymore
I have enough new identities to explore
I'm not as negative as I used to be before
washed up from the sea of dreams to solid sands and shores
